Entry requirements

The course is multidisciplinary, so accordingly, entrants from many different educational backgrounds may apply:

Vocational Maturity (Berufsmaturität)

  • Persons with an apprenticeship in a related professional field (health, education, social, technical, chemical and biological sectors) and a federally recognised vocational maturity will be immediately accepted onto the course.
  • Persons with an apprenticeship in another professional field and a federally recognised vocational maturity must be able to demonstrate 12 months of work experience in a related field prior to the start of the course. Further information

Maturity, technical or trade school

Persons with a grammar school (baccalaureate) or professional maturity from a technical or trade school (FMS / HMS) must be able to demonstrate 12 months of work experience in a related field prior to the start of the course. Further information 

Different educational backgrounds

Persons without a recognized maturity can apply "by dossier" to the Director of Studies to do a theoretical entrance examination.The exam is based on the test syllabus taken from the federal regulations for the natural sciences vocational maturity. Further information (German)

Course capacity

The Department of Life Sciences and Facility Management's infrastructure is suitable for the program in environmental engineering to accept a maximum of 150 new students. If there is a significantly higher number of applicants, some students may have to start their course a year later than planned. In the interest of allowing students and the School of Life Sciences and Facility Management to plan for the future, we ask you to register as early as possible.
